Performers

In 2024 Stroude began a collaboration with three actors from ATU, Sligo, Ruth Maty Fundu, Emilia Mononen and Liana Mosneanu. The collaboration culminated in a body of work titled Slow Heat, that looks at the question of women’s potentiality, their ability to endure, acknowledgement of their innate capabilities and the need to move beyond past preconceptions. The portraits of the three actors were shown in Stroude’s solo exhibition, Slow Heat at Claremorris Gallery, 2025.

In 2022, Emmen was shown in Cairde Visual in Sligo and subsequently in the 142nd Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition in Belfast.

Emilia

With support from the Arts Council Agility Award, in 2021,  Stroude expanded her practice to work directly with 3 performing artists in Belfast to research and develop subject matter for a series of work titled Mid-Air & Middle Ground. They are Angelique Ross, Michelle Thoburn and Emmen Donnelly. She painted their portraits as part of her investigation into using movement and performance as metaphors for psychological and emotional experience.

In 2022, Emmen was shown in the 142nd Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition in Belfast. Angelique was exhibited in the RHA’s 192nd Annual Exhibition and Mish was shown the following year in the RHA’s 193rd Annual Exhibition in Dublin.
